Suntory Museum of Art "400 Years of Death Commemorative Special Exhibition: Daimyo Chajin Oda Yurakusai"
Oda Nobunaga's younger brother, Oda Yurakusai (Nagamasu, 1547~1621), survived the war-torn world by serving the three emperors of Nobunaga, Hideyoshi, and Ieyasu, and was also a deep lover of the tea ceremony. Starting with the national treasure tea room "Nyoan" built in the Shoden-in Temple, the head of Kenninji Temple in Kyoto, the aesthetic sense of Yurakusai is alive and well in the modern tea ceremony and is considered a norm. On the occasion of the 400th anniversary of Oda Yurakusai's death, this exhibition introduces the temple treasures of Shoden Eigen-in, a temple related to Yurakusai, and approaches the rare figure of Yurakusai from the masterpieces of tea utensils and letters related to Yurakusai.
