Toraya Tokyo Midtown Gallery 49th Special Exhibition "Japanese Sweets and Manga"
Manga loved all over the world. Each region has its own unique manga culture, such as comics and cartoons in the English-speaking world, bande dessinée in the French-speaking world, and renkanga in the Chinese-speaking world, but it is unique to Japan to have a wide fan base of men and women of all ages.
In this exhibition, we will introduce manga works in which Japanese sweets appear. In addition to works with the theme of Japanese sweets, such as being set in a Japanese confectionery shop, there are also works that involuntarily attract interest in Japanese sweets as you read them, and "I want to try these sweets!" I chose the one that makes me feel like it. Why don't you rediscover the charm of Japanese sweets through manga, although it is just a part of many wonderful works?
