Makeup Culture Gallery "The Aesthetics of the Beginning, Phase 2: The Beginning of Makeup"

In the first year of the opening of the Makeup Culture Gallery, we will introduce makeup culture from three themes with the keyword "beginning".
1st period: May 16, 2024 ~ August 30, 2024 The Beginning of Makeup Culture Research
2nd period: September 5, 2024 ~ December 13, 2024 The beginning of makeup
3rd period: December 19, 2024 ~ March 28, 2025 First makeup

Following the first term, "The Beginning of Makeup Culture Research," the second term will focus on "The Beginning of Makeup" and will explore the original makeup. The origin of makeup is ancient, and it is said to be in the Paleolithic period, and traces of people actually wearing makeup and numerous makeup tools have been found in ancient ruins. In this season, we will take up ancient makeup tools and introduce the meaning, purpose, and makeup method of makeup. From our modern point of view, it seems to be simple, humorous, and a little strangely shaped. I hope that it will be a time to think about ancient makeup and get closer to the aesthetic sense of the people of that time.
In "Books", we will introduce books under six themes, expanding associations from "origin". When we think about our lives, livelihoods, and society, we think about their origins. In nature, such as water and plants, which give rise to life, and in the act of communication and prayer, which are indispensable for the existence of society. Please use your sensibilities to identify the various origins.
