As European society progressed toward modernization after the technological innovation of the Industrial Revolution, cosmetics and techniques that directly connected to the makeup we are doing today appeared in the field of beauty, and their influence extended to the makeup culture of Japan. The exhibition "European Costumes" presents items related to European attire in the 19th and 20th centuries, such as makeup tools and trinkets, from the collection of the Pola Cultural Institute.
