Azabudai Hills Gallery "Masako Hamada Exhibition 'Flying Clouds Crossing the Sky'"
Masako Hamada's first solo exhibition, "Flying Clouds Across the Sky," will be held at Azabudai Hills Gallery.
The only thing on display in this exhibition is the new original drawings that Masako Hamada drew for this exhibition. Some of the works featuring diverse motifs are exhibited with comments made by Hamada himself during the production, providing a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes of the production and the thought process. Several creators and artists from the art world have also joined the production.
The venue for this exhibition is designed by dot architects, an architect unit based in Osaka.
They have attracted attention at art exhibitions in Japan and abroad and the International Architecture Exhibition at the Venice Biennale, and in this exhibition, they launched the entire venue as a "fictional town with a sense of nostalgia" from the perspective that "people are greatly influenced by the environment in which they were born and raised." By walking through the venue, we will create an immersive exhibition experience that echoes Hamada's works with the space that unfolds like a landscape, and speaks to the viewer's own memories and senses. In addition, video works by filmmaker Shuma Jan will also be screened at the venue. The content focuses on the entire creative of this exhibition, and allows you to get a three-dimensional sense of the ideas behind it and the behind-the-scenes of the exhibition production.
In addition to the exhibition, there is also a variety of content that can only be experienced at the venue. At the exhibition-only collaboration café "Cafe Still Masato", which will open on the B1 floor of Azabudai Hills at the venue, Hamada himself will have a unique original menu that incorporates Hamada's worldview, and you can enjoy the afterglow of the exhibition through food. The store name logo with an illustration of a coffee cup written by Hamada himself created for this time will also appear.
Beyond "deliciousness" and "meaning", something suddenly remains in my heart. Please enjoy the "discomfort" and "new discoveries" you feel in the exhibition hall.
