The National Art Center, Tokyo "Bulgari Kaleidos: Color, Culture, and Technique"
Roman high jeweler, Bulgari. The exhibition "Bulgari Kaleidos: Colors, Culture, and Techniques", which sheds light on the unique ability to manipulate colors, is the largest Bulgari exhibition in Japan in 10 years and the largest ever.
The title of the exhibition, Kaleidos, a Greek word meaning "beautiful (Kalos)" or "form (aidos)", symbolizes a journey through a dynamic and ever-changing world of colors, where beauty and creativity harmonize. The approximately 350 pieces of jewelry, masterpieces of color, selected from the Bulgari Heritage Collection and precious private collections, trace the Maison's inception to the present day, highlight the deep connection between Italy and Japan, and celebrate the shared passion for art and design and the rich cultural heritage of both countries. In addition, three contemporary female artists, Lara Favarette, Mariko Mori, and Akiko Nakayama, will exhibit works based on their considerations of color.
Combining high jewelry, creations from the Bulgari Heritage Collection, contemporary art, valuable materials from the Bulgari Historical Archive, and immersive installations, this exhibition is a kaleidoscope of creative and mind-blowing experiences. Through a multifaceted journey where images, interactive spaces and artistic dialogues bring Bulgari's world of colors to life, you will be able to appreciate the Maison's mastery of mastering gems and precious metals at will.
