This tour is a five-part walking tour that explores cultural properties in Minato Ward with a focus on the Edo period.
Taking the question “Why was Ieyasu able to establish 260 years of peace?” as our starting point, we’ll deepen our understanding as we visit cultural properties throughout Minato Ward.
This is an experiential historical walking tour that allows you to experience the ideas and institutions of the Edo period firsthand as you stroll through the city.

Meeting Place: In front of Shogatsuka, at the bottom of the stairs of Shiba Daijingu Shrine

Access: About a 1-minute walk from Daimon Station on the Toei Oedo Line or Toei Asakusa Line / About a 5-minute walk from Onarimon Station on the Toei Mita Line

Event Details: Visit cultural properties that played a vital role in logistics and the Sankin-kotai system
Course Details: Shiba Daijingu Shrine → Zojo-ji Temple Main Gate → Stroll through the Shiba Park Tumulus Group and the Shiba area → Walk along Hibiya Street, reflecting on the patriotic figures associated with Minato Ward → Site of the Former Zako-ba Fish Market → [For those with extra time only] Collect stamps at Fuda-no-Tsuji Square
