The 12 shops in the Minato-ku and Shimbashi districts hold the Shimbashi Koichi Festival for two days in late July, with JR Shimbashi Station West Exit SL Plaza and other stations as venues. The Shimbashi Koisai is held annually as a place and opportunity to interact with neighboring residents and employees with the aim of revitalizing the local community in the Shimbashi area, and is attended by more than 140,000 visitors every year.
This year, we were preparing to hold the event as usual on Thursday, September 16 and Friday, September 17, 2021, but we abandoned the event in its normal form in consideration of the emergency declaration due to the new coronavirus infection.
However, since it was canceled last year, the Shimbashi District 12 Shop Association decided to hold the "25th Shimbashi Koichi Festival" on the Web in a different shape, thinking that "Can we do something this year!".
The event will be live on YouTube from 6:30 p.m. on Friday, September 17, 2021.
This is my first attempt in 25 years, and I'm preparing to make it something that everyone enjoyed.
The contents are "Bon Odori", which is the center of the festival, and the main event "Yukata Beauty Contest".
In the Yukata Beauty Contest, finalists who have passed the preliminary documents and interview screenings will appear on stage to show off their yukatas dressed in a unique way. According to the screening on the day, one grand prix and one semi-grand prix will be decided this year.
