Makeup Culture Gallery Workshop "The Ideal Skin of Edo Musume"

This is a guide to the workshop to be held at the Makeup Culture Gallery. The program on September 19 is "The Ideal Skin of Edo Musume". Utilizing the science of the POLA ORBIS Group, you can recreate the white powder of the Edo period, and experience the skin and finish that women at that time aimed for.

The record of white flour in Japan is old and can be traced back to the Nara period. In addition to white clay and sesame powder, "lead white powder" was widely used in the Edo period, which gave the skin an ideal skin that looked like a ball.

Following a mini-lecture on the history of white powder, we will introduce makeup tools and related items related to white powder makeup collected by the POLA Cultural Research Institute.
