The day begins with a nice walk, and throughout the day we will walk a whole lot. After all the walking, it's now time to head back early to the hotel you will be staying at tonight. As you make your way back to the hotel towards Takeshiba from Hamamatsucho Station, from where the Tokyo tower can be seen, you can feel the sea breeze gently touching your cheeks. When you have passed by Takeshiba Futo Park, you will see a large monument of a mast standing right there in the park. When you have come this far, Tokyo Bay will just be around the corner.

Tonight you will be staying at the Hotel InterContinental Tokyo Bay, which is located next to Takeshiba Pier. Facing Tokyo Bay and the Sumida River, the hotel boasts one of the best bay views in Tokyo, and the entire building was just renovated last year. The first floor, where the lobby is located, has a chic and sophisticated atmosphere with the Hudson Lounge as its centerpiece.

The lounge is decorated with a folding screen that is an antique painting of views in and around the city of Kyoto, and the wall of the front desk is decorated with Japanese family crests. Here at the hotel's lounge, you will find yourself appreciating the Japanese and oriental elements that this space has to offer.

The inside of the Superior Room will sure blow your mind as soon as you have opened the door. But we are sure that something else will have caught your eyes before you even have time to have a good look at the inside of the room - yes, the view of Tokyo Bay from the room's window. Open the window, and be ready to take in the breathtaking view that meets your eyes.

The panoramic 180-degree view of Tokyo Bay brings you the city of Shibaura, the spherical observation deck of Fuji TV in Odaiba, a panoramic view of the Rainbow Bridge, the athletes' village of the Tokyo Olympics awaiting its opening, and the new Toyosu market, surrounded by the sea where sightseeing boats and sea cabs draw their wake. You will be forgiven if you find yourself on the verge of tears looking out the window from your room, which is on the 15th floor of the hotel.

With the "new normal" well under its way, we have seen a lot more people spending time here at the Hotel InterContinental Tokyo Bay either for day use, telework, or workation. Many of the guests live in Tokyo, where it's difficult to travel too far out of. I, too, was hoping to treat myself to some quality time today feeling completely relaxed.

The hotel's newly renovated rooms are decorated in a clean white base with a natural interior, and the walls are adorned with ink paintings reminiscent of the ocean breeze. Standing at the perfect height, the table near the window makes for a comfortable working space, and next to it is a daybed-like sofa, designed so that you can gaze at the seaside view forever. The lobby and lounge has a great collection of art, but the fabrics and objects in the rooms are also wonderful, with all the details having been meticulously crafted.

As amazing as the views are, I have to make the most of my time here to really experience what it is like to "live" here. You can read your favorite book on the sofa, check your travel information at the desk, or check your email on the bed that boasts a Sealy mattress that wraps around your entire body. You may also try dining in at "NAGOMI Lounge" anytime from 8:00 to 19:30.

I was in bed with my computer open when I heard a knock at the door. I did come here to enjoy some quality time, and to make that even better, I decided to also treat myself to the hotel's afternoon tea. If you're also looking to treat yourself to a little something, be sure to try the hotel's seasonal afternoon tea that you can get through room service.

This is a gorgeous joint project between Pierre Hermé, the world-renowned patissier, and Junji Tokunaga, the hotel's executive chef patissier. Tokunaga has walked an amazing career path, having come home runner-up as a representative of Japan in the Coupe du Monde, a world confectionary championship.

"Chocolat Oranger", which Tokunaga said he had invented in homage to Pierre Hermé, shines like a bright star among all Pierre Hermé's original and passionate sweets using fruits, such as Ispahan and Infiniman Cassis. Let's take a moment to recognize that it is very rare for Pierre Hermé to add another patissier's work to his own, so we are, in fact, in for a very luxury experience here.

...... And time has passed in the blink of an eye. It is dark outside now, with the night view now is that of a moonlit curtain. With the Rainbow Bridge coming to life, I have the best night view of Tokyo all to myself. It was a night that I will always remember. The hotel's staff is required to take their temperature and wear masks when they arrive at work. In addition, in compliance with the global hygiene standard "IHG Clean Promise," the front desk, restaurants, and guest rooms are cleaned and sanitized. With this stay, I found myself craving to live in Minato City more than ever. I will definitely stay another night here in Minato City next time I am here in Tokyo!

Minato-ku has become more and more wanting to live in this stay. I would definitely stay here again!
