The National Art Center, Tokyo
This beautiful spot combines the characteristic museum building created by the late Kisho Kurosawa, a world-renowned architect, and rows of cherry blossom trees outside.
Minato City Local History Museum
Displays documents, old literature, Ukiyo-e art, folk equipment, and more excavated from ruins on the city grounds. In the "Please Touch the Exhibits Room", there are skeletons of the Minke Whale and Jomon pottery on display.
Akasaka Palace (the State Guest House)
Akasaka Palace was built in the 42d year of the Meiji Era (1909) as the Palace for the Crown Prince. It was renovated in the 49th year of the Showa Era (1974) and established as the nation's State Guest House. The Palace of Versailles was used as a reference for Akasaka Palace's magnificent exterior, which is based upon the colors white and blue. Akasaka Palace receives many VIPs and has become a venue for summits. It is presently open to the public throughout the year.
Rainbow Bridge
The largest bridge in Metropolitan Tokyo, the Rainbow Bridge connects the Shibaura area to the Tokyo Waterfront City, with a length of about 800 meters. The bridge is a symbol of Tokyo and gives a beautiful silhouette to Tokyo Bay. The upper portion is the Shuto Expressway, and the lower portion is a double structure with general roads, pedestrian promenades, and the New Transit Yurikamome Line. You can enjoy a view of Tokyo Tower and Odaiba from the 1.7 km (20-30 walk) pedestrian premenade.
Caretta Shiodome
Aside from having about 60 restaurants and shops, it is a commercial complex with cultural facilities such as Japan's only advertisement museum "Advertisement Museum Tokyo," "Dentsu Shiki Theatre UMI", etc. You can have a magnificent view of the bay area overlooking Odaiba and Toyosu from the free observation space "SKY VIEW" on the 46th floor. Its illumination with sounds and lights during the period from November through February every year attracts many visitors and has been a seasonal event in Shiodame area in Minako-ku.
Tokyo Metropolitan Central Library
This is a Tokyo Metropolitan library in the Arisugawa Miya Memorial Park. By the prescribed procedure, you can use the computer that is installed in the building. There is also a café restaurant on the 5th and 1st floors where you can take a snack.
