designshop "KAMASADA NANBU IRONWARE forms of light and crystal"

Kamada, which continues to explore the state of Nanbu ironware in line with the times, celebrates its 115th anniversary this year.
For 25 years, designshop has been introduced through three exhibitions with Kamasada and the planning of the book "Living with Nanbu Ironware".

This exhibition introduces the form of Nanbu ironware from the two perspectives of "crystal" and "light" in the mysterious natural world that Kamasada representative Nobuho Miya has been interested in for many years.
From microscopic images to new works with "crystal" motifs, we will reconsider Nanbu ironware from a microscopic perspective. The other one will be an exhibition that goes around Nanbu ironware and lights from lanterns and candlesticks to lighting. This time, new works will be exhibited at Tokyo DesignShop, and special exhibitions will be held at Kamasada in Iwate Morioka in an atelier that is usually closed to the public. We hope this will be an opportunity to discover the new charm of Nanbu Ironware.

In the Azabu area where DesignShop is located, along with the current Arisugawa-no-miya Memorial Park, where the former Nanbu Domain (Morioka Domain) Shimoyashiki was located, place names related to Iwate such as "Nanbuzaka" and "Morioka Town Koban" remain.
