Toraya Akasaka Gallery Special Exhibition "Family Crest and Japanese Confectionery Design Exhibition"

Japan's family crest is simply and beautifully designed with flora and fauna, nature, utensils, geometric patterns, and more. It is said that there are 50,000 species, and it has long been popular as a symbol of family history and as a pattern on kimonos and personal items. It has a lot in common with the design of Japanese sweets, and it can be said that both reflect the aesthetic sense of Japan people.
In this exhibition, with the cooperation of "Kyogen", which passes on the technique of hand-painted family crests, we will introduce a variety of family crest and Japanese confectionery designs with wishes for prosperity of descendants, wealth, and longevity.
