Biwa vaudeville has started!
In Minato Ward, where Japan's only biwa specialty store "Ishida Biwa Store" is located, we will develop a place where you can always meet the biwa. The venue, the Minato City Traditional Culture Exchange Center, is a very quaint building built in Showa 11 as a watchhouse. Please enjoy a moment in the large hall of 100 tatami mats, which retains the remnants of that time, and touch the playing of the biwa.
This is the fifth time that this event has been held, and it is a gorgeous gathering of female performers. The Satsuma biwa is not only a solo, but also a rare duet, and you can also hear the raku biwa played in gagaku, which often appears in the taiga drama "To the Radiant Prince". As a guest performer, we will welcome Mr./Ms. Koharu Yanagiya, a music master, and deliver stylish tricks handed down from Edo. Please come and visit us after inviting us.
