In commemoration of the reopening of Izumiya Hirokokan Tokyo, we will exhibit the whole picture of the Nihonga collection.
Sumitomo's Nihonga is a unique collection composed of works by artists active in Osaka, Kyoto, and Tokyo, and the highlight is the works rich in local colors that breathe in the atmosphere of each city. Through the Sumitomo Collection, which has Japanese paintings from the three capitals, you will be able to look at the Japanese painting world at that time from a cross-sectional manner and see the charm and diversity of Nihonga painting rooted in the region.
