Toraya Tokyo Midtown Store Gallery "Enjoying Time - Contemporary Ceramic Artists' Pottery Exhibition"

At the Toraya Tokyo Midtown Store Gallery, from Friday, September 18, 2026 to Wednesday, October 21, 2026, works by selected ceramic artists from Ginza Kuroda Toen will be exhibited and sold.

Since its founding in 1935, Ginza Kuroda Touen has handled works by renowned ceramic artists, has a nationwide production network and networks, and actively introduces young artists. This time, through the eyes of Ginza Kuroda Touen, we have selected ceramic artists and works that resonate with the sensibilities of people passing through Tokyo Midtown and add color to their daily lives. These works are exhibited and sold at the Toraya Tokyo Midtown store gallery. Works by promising artists and creators who work with diligent craftsmanship are gathered here.

What is Ginza Kuroda Touen?
Founder Ryoji Kuroda worked at a pottery shop in Ginza while deepening his relationship with Rosanjin Kitaoji, and in 1935, he became independent and founded the company. While supporting the pottery of masters like Rosanjin Kitaoji, he has also focused on emerging artists and unknown newcomers, introducing traditional Japanese crafts to the world. With the philosophy of respecting the old and looking at the new, he is now located in Ginza 7-chome, handling everything from antique ceramics to contemporary artists. The Toraya store, which opened in 1946, has long been side by side, gazing at the city of Ginza. The TORAYA Ginza Building, completed in 2024, houses Ginza Kuroda Touen on the 5th floor and TORAYA GINZA on the 4th floor.
