The Minato Science Museum, which opened in Toranomon in June this year, is a facility where children and adults can learn about science while having fun. Let's learn about the science in the city and Minato City in the experience game using the latest technology!
"Science" in the city
The concept of the "Permanent Exhibition Corner" is the discovery and exploration of "science that lives in the town". We can enjoy learning that there is "science" everywhere in our daily lives.
There is a large map in the middle of the exhibition space. This "Minato Quest Map" is a screen shaped like Minato-ku, Tokyo, and if you operate the surrounding panels, various images will appear on the map. You will see the location of the river and embassy in Minato Ward, changes in Tokyo Bay and landfills, etc. In addition, if you select "Drone Mode", you can fly a virtual drone on a map, see the spots you care about in detail, and watch the video.

The exhibition space consists of four areas: Shizen, Machi, I, and Umi.
Each corner encourages people to think about science based on familiar things in the city. In each corner, there are hands-on games using the latest technology, and even adults will be able to get carried away.
Stand in front of the big screen and spread your arms. A game in which you fly skillfully over a projected city and answer quizzes. It was difficult even for adults!
A game in which you turn a magnet, make electricity, attach an LED light with that electricity, shine the light on the solar panel, and move the doll with that power.
Since Minato Ward faces the sea, there are plenty of sea-related exhibits, and it is also very interesting that the structure of Japan's breakwaters and bridges is exhibited from a technical point of view. It is also surprising that many species of insects live in the city.
